St. Kilda Wedding - Traditional

This beautiful dance tune is one of a very small number known to have come from the islands of St. Kilda, where it was supposed to have been played as a bridal march. St. Kilda was evacuated in 1930, but it is likely that this tune dates from well before that: in the 19th century local traditions were apparently in significant decline due to the influence of the church, so it's more likely that this tune dates from at least the 18th century. My version (video below) offers a slightly more modern take on the tune with a strong downbeat rhythm.
