CRITIQUES

I have many years' experience as an editor of poetry and prose, and some of the authors whose manuscripts I have worked on have gone on to have their work shortlisted for national (e.g the Michael Marks Prize and the Desmond Elliot Prize) and regional awards (e.g East Anglian Book of the Year). I have published several books and pamphlets of my own work, have substantial experience of the contemporary poetry scene, and have worked as an editor for both the literary journal Lighthouse and its parent publisher, Gatehouse Press.

Fees for critiques are arranged by negotiation, on sight of your manuscript and discussion with yourself as to the nature and extent of the critique you require. That said, I would normally charge £50 for a 300-500 word critique of 8 pages of poetry, including marginal annotations. Every poetry manuscript is different, however, and needs different kinds and levels of attention.
