Dyma Gariad-1.png

This tune is adapted from a Welsh hymn, whose first lines run 'Dyma gariad fel y moroedd / tosturiaethau fel y llu'. The tune is 'Blaenwern', composed by William Penfro Rowlands in around 1904-5, and refers to the farm in Pembrokeshire where Rowlands spent time as a young man. Though the music above is based on this tune, it is an adaptation based on the bagpipe version played by the Pembrokeshire piper John Tose.
